Join Dr. Claire Heckel & the Heritage Research Center as she gives an overview of the Digital Library on American Slavery (DLAS), with a focus on the latest component of the project "People Not Property: Slave Deeds of North Carolina." As a public history project, "People Not Property" is a community effort that relies on the participation of volunteer researchers. This talk will invite the audience to get involved and provide an orientation to the process of volunteering with the project. Dr. Claire Heckel is the Project Coordinator for the "People Not Property" project at the UNCG University Libraries. Registration is required.
